Allowing for a four/five hour time difference, it is possible to leave the UK and parts of the USA & Canada in the morning and be by our pool in time to watch the sun go down.
There are a number of direct flights a week (British Airways, Virgin Atlantic) from Gatwick to Antigua (flying time approximately 7.5 hours).
Montserrat is reached by plane – Islanders – (20 minutes) – Fly Montserrat or SVG. If there are 6 or 7 of you, it is probably a good idea to charter from Fly Montserrat.
Baggage allowance, both on international airlines and the Islanders is one case 23 kg, plus hand luggage.
It’s also possible to catch a ferry from Antigua’s Heritage Key port. The ferry usually runs from Thursday to Saturday, leaving for Montserrat at 5.30 pm. The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Always check with the ferry operator beforehand.
Once you arrive on Montserrat you will find a good taxi service and hire car availability. We recommend that you take a taxi to the villa on arrival and arrange for a hire car to be waiting for you.
Every named driver needs a temporary Montserrat driver’s licence (available at the airport or port), issued on showing of a valid national driver’s licence.
